Fun Facts Friday: Changing Leaf Colors

This Friday’s Focus: Changing Leaf Colors
Did you know that deciduous leaves change color in the fall because they stop producing the green pigment called chlorophyll? As the season changes and there is less available sunlight and water, the trees flow with nature’s cycles of knowing when to conserve their energy and how to sustain themselves in other ways. This is just one example of nature’s phenomenal efficiency.
Makes one think about how much more efficient our lives would be, if we followed the cycles of nature more closely. Today, we have automated most of our lives and claim it is just “impossible” or not “practical” to live in harmony with nature and her cycles. While nature suffers a bit from our inefficient ways of living, in the end it is us who suffer the most as we try to go against the natural flow of life. It shows in our happiness levels and our state of inner peace most strongly.

Gorgeous colors!! You are definitely ahead of us – here – in this season of changing leaves!!!
Wonderful colors! I hope our colors are good this fall, but with the hot dry summer that we’ve had, it’s likely to be muted, though in recent weeks, we’ve had more plentiful rain and temperatures have been moderating.
I love watching the plants and animals flow with the seasons. When we become aware of the world around us we see the beauty in each moment and how it changes. We then find ourselves in tune with natures cycles.
Wonderful colors! very good shot!
When the leaves were green, they became a gateway to ground light upon the earth. It is through the heart that we make things matter.
New knowledge roots its self and spreads beneath the canopy to effectively change all things that feel at home under the trees.
Mission Accomplished, the leaves turn and step down information to the lower chakras of orange yellow and red, which is pure nourishment gifted from the cosmos. It takes a few seasons to digest its goodness fully, until it is time to summon new information and raw energy from the sun.
wow…! You sharing a very nice information. Great!
