What Are You Holding Onto?

Holding onto our material things is as futile as trying to grab the sky.
The tighter we squeeze, the less of it we feel;
The more vulnerable we feel about its loss.
Know that everything passes through the flow of life.
Just as the chipmunk is not defined by the tree it holds onto;
You are not defined by the things you hold onto.
Therefore, hold lightly, be flexible with letting go and bless all in the process.

I really love the line….”the tighter we squeeze, the less we feel”.
The Pressure we place on our selves and on our environment makes us and our neighbors numb and dumb.
And from a place of holding on lightly, we will eventually find the courage to let go all together. By letting go of the limbs and our safety nets, we realize we can not fall when one is floating in the sea and spirit that is our environment. Connection with Nature is a feeling beyond danger.
Evita, I adore chipmunks. And, your words here are profound! Wonderful metaphors. I love how nature provides these opportunities to express our thoughts and feelings.
