Fun Facts Friday: The Month of September

Welcome to the new Friday Feature – ‘Fun Facts Friday’ – here on EvolvingScenes.com!

Each Friday, I will share with you a fun fact, but with a little spin. To keep in line with Evolving Scenes themes of awakening our minds and hearts, evolving our souls, and increasing our conscious awareness, I will tie them into the fun fact. Of course as always, you get to draw your own conclusions, as to what each message meant to you personally…feel free to share in the comments below.

This Friday’s focus: the month of September.

Did you know that even though September is the 9th month of the year, its name actually comes from Latin, meaning “seventh”?

Scholars state, that the miscount is not a mistake, but a result of humanity’s conservatism, when it comes to change. September used to be the 7th month, when in the old calendar, the year started in March. When the calendar changed to start in January, no one cared to update, or change the names to reflect the new order.

Makes one think about how fabricated “time” and everything surrounding it really is, and how many other things we personally hold onto today, that are outdated or no longer serve us…

  1. Bern says:

It almost seems like an energetic conspiracy yet again from the Roman Empire ~ whether consciously or unconsciously manifested. If people feel they are a product of time, then the new year begins in the winter when they have little power or reserves to produce something tangible for themselves.

However, in time, life begins with the sprouting of seeds. Therefore, the new year should begin in Spring as does the Chinese calendar. The new cycle begins with New and Changed Life under new conditions and circumstances.

Instead, the Romans would have you reflect upon in-activity as a new beginning….leaving one in a state of stagnation, and ultimately out of sorts and out of rhythm with the cycles of Nature.
