Overcoming Fears

What do you fear?
One of the first ways to overcoming fear is to figure out what is it about this certain “thing” that scares you.
Some people choose to research their fear, after which time they usually find that the information in their head was incorrect in relation to the feared item.
Other people, will imagine being faced with the fear and what the worst case scenario of that would be, which in many cases they find is nothing they cannot handle.
Whatever you do, face your fears and do not run or hide from them. For it is only then that you will feel empowered, invincible, less stressed and ready to take on anything that comes your way!

You seem to be scared of spiders. It shows in this shot, get a macro shot and overcome the fear. Good Luck
Hi Thomas – well to tell you the truth I used to be somewhat scared of spiders, but then I faced the fear and realized that there is really nothing to be afraid of. (Most do not bite and run as fast as they can from us)
As for the shot, yeah a macro lens would have been better, but this pic wasn’t even taken on the Nikon D80 but with the old simple camera I had :)
Thanks for the message and the picture. That would certainly help in overcoming my fears. Thanks a lot!!!
One of my biggest fears has been bees, as I am allergic to them. I have finally convinced myself that I will not let bees scare me away from the outdoors, or flowers anymore.
Also, I find that writing about some of my fears help get them out of my mental obsessing about them loop. Just writing about if they happened, and what I would do, whether realistic or just fantasy, has helped me deal with the fact that yes, they exist, and yes, I have control of them, vs. them having control of me.

@PRIYA – you are very welcome :)
@KRISTI – A bee allergy would definitely be a reason to have a fear, but it appears you did exactly what will empower you to overcome this.
Visualizations as you may know are very powerful as our mind actually processes real and imaginary events in the same way, hence you can actually change feelings and emotions associated with that thought just by visualizing the event.
Even though I am not allergic to bees, one thing I have learned since the time, my only time in life that I got stung by one at 10 years old, is never to swat your arms or any body parts around them. Bees, wasps, hornets, etc are much more likely to attack when they feel threatened, such as if something is coming at them. To this day if one is coming even at my face, I stay still because they will not attack and sting a standing still object – that is just not in their nature. (I am sure there are exceptions but it has helped me avoid many a sting)
Love this kind of nature photography!
Very well done!
Great message as well!
Before I started photographing insects I wasn’t very fond of them, but now I ‘like’ them a lot.
They are very fascinating and when you’ll take the time to take a closer look at them you’ll see how beautiful they are.
