Enjoy the Simple Things

What do we need to be really happy?

A big house? Fancy cars? The latest electronic gadgets? Lots of money? Designer clothes?

No.

While these things can give you some enjoyable times, true happiness is much more simple.

To be really happy, look around you and notice the simple things.

Notice others.

Notice nature.

Notice you.

And feel the love.

    very well depicted and said.

Paraphrasing what Tom Petty once said, I want to free fall into nothing and find my self in everything. This makes me happy.

    I am a Wildflower.

And like the Squirrel that you have immortalized, I want to taste the essence of life and that which makes me truly live.

Hi Evita. What a cutie! I used to feed one particular squirrel when I was a little girl living on a farm. I used to climb up on a fence and stretch my arms way up the tree, holding a piece of bread. He would inch his way down the tree slowly towards me and take the bread. He’d call me daily with his chattering and I’m come with his snack :-)

  5. I just love the pic of that squirrel! :D

Oooh, Bernie took the words out of my mouth. ;) When we “freefall into nothing,” life just POPS!

    Hi Evita,
I think that the country I’m currently living in is slowly realising your statement of the day!! Very nice shot and beautiful thought again. People should really think about that!

Evita — Wow. I loved this picture and what you wrote. First of all, I adore squirrels. To me, they are the most persistent and determined animals in my backyard.

They constantly find creative ways to eat out my squirrel proof feeders, which I allow because they’re so much fun to watch.

Also, watching nature is my way to fully connect with the present. After a few minutes of sitting outside, the past and the future disappear while I watch nature go about the present. Thanks for this picture:~)

Hello everyone and thank you so much for all your comments!

If it weren’t for the amazing cooperation of this little fellow, this photo would not have been possible. He was totally okay with me being about 2 feet away from him to capture this and he had no intentions of moving :)
