Taking It Easier

Looking Over the Lake

My dear readers, for those of you who are regulars to this site, you know that I post a photo and reflection each of the 5 days of the week.

After some contemplation recently, I have decided to go down to posting 3 days a week – Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

There are so many photos and words I want to share with you, but part of this change is that I want to cut down the days I am on the computer. Don’t get me wrong. I love this tool, but there is a part of me that at this moment is calling out for more freedom.

It is time to take it a little easier.

I invite you to reflect on your own life today, and see what areas you can take it a little easier in.

Evita, this is wonderful! It’s a reminder those of us tethered to electronics need to hear from time to time. We can’t live in a vacuum. Not to our fullest, anyway. We are more than the things we learn online, more than the connections we make through this medium, more than sparks and ideas and the community found here. Because we are more, we also need more. I’m so glad you’re announcing this bid for freedom. …although I’d term it more like gathering ’round all the other parts of you that have been pushed aside by the computer. ;)

I understand your recent change; blogging not the priority when you have families, kids, friends, jobs, house, animals… and problems!
When I’ll feel against the current vis-à-vis the blogs, it’s certain that I would take my retirement… Bonne semaine.

    Hi Evita,
I understand you too… Sometime, the computer is just taking you too much and you do not realize it… I tend to post less too and visit blogs less.. I think I spend too much time over there and forget to do other things!! Life isn’t only staying in front of a screen!

  4. Do what is best for yourself, Evita!
fyi I have recently been cutting back on time spent with rss feeds. But yours remains in my ‘must read’ list :)

When the Reflections vanish, then there is only the ease and the grace of the Moment to Experience.

Hi Evita. I’ve been doing the same thing lately. We have to take care of ourselves… nobody can do it for us.

@ JULIE – Thank you Julie – I couldn’t have said it any better myself. And you know what in the grand scheme of things, this is still such a tiny step. I am still trying to find the balance I want with the online world, and this is perhaps just one of those steps…

@ DOUM – Yes, thank Doum – there is a beautiful world in here, but there is also an amazing one out there too – we have to remember that always :)

@ CHRIS – Yes, you are so right Chris, and you know what having 3 blogs, again this is a tiny step. And I don’t want people to get me wrong, I love writing and I love what I do, but my nature is not to live in front of a computer, and lately it feels that way…

@ ERIC – Thank you for your support and encouragement and I am humbled to hear that – thank you, it definitely feels very special :)

@ BERNIE – Yes, indeed Bernie, yes indeed…

@ DAVINA – I agree absolutely Davina. Going into the world of the Internet and blogging especially, I don’t think many of us realize how much it can take out of us.

I understand exactly what you mean. It seems to be a good idea to trim down to three. Same here, I’ve been trying to figure out how to spend less time online.

@ PEENKFRIK – Thanks for understanding. There is a great world here, but there is also an amazing one outside, and one that is in many ways much more natural to our spirit!
