@ THE ENVOY - Yes, indeed you are right, perceptions do change all the time, but it is US who are still in charge of those perceptions.

I know this is a difficult concept to realize for many people, but I want to share with you what I have learned so far in life, that has made it a bed of roses every day.

We give meaning to every single thing in our lives. We decide how we are going to react.

So say there is a break up, an accident, an illness, etc. At all these moments, what we get out of them is the perceptions WE choose to have about them.

You can take them at surface value and apply what reactions society has taught you to apply to them, i.e. "bad", "negative", "hard", "painful"....

Or you could choose to see them in a new light by looking at the bigger picture, by choosing another perspective...

Bottom line we always have a choice, and when our perceptions change, it is because we chose to change them.

Perceptions change all the time though. One day the world may be a bed of roses and the next day, a nest of thorns.

I clicked on this image as it caught my eye, and even before I read the text the SAME exact thoughts (to what you wrote here) we running through my mind. It is a topic that I touch on in my book. So often we unknowingly cripple our lives and limit our perception because we don't stop and REALLY think about what we are...THINKING, or how we perceive the world around us -- whether that be spiders and snakes or supposed negative experiences. We lose SO much when we don't keep an open mind and heart, and look beyond our social or family conditioning. Very important topic Evita. Love how you used the spider and summarized it in so few words. You are brilliant. Much love, Robin

Evita -- this is such a great picture of a spider. They're not easy to capture on film.

I have a love/fear relationship with spiders. They scare me, but I'm fascinated by their ability to build webs...and when their webs get broken, go right out and do the repair. They are very persistent.

You're so right about taking another look and seeing the beauty in something that's not always seen as pleasant. Thanks:~)
