Web Of Life

Do You Realize We Are All Connected?
Sit back for a moment and really think about that.
Nothing on this planet is independent of another.
Not one thing, not one creature acts on this planet, without impacting another in some way, be it positive or negative.
We are all connected.
That is why when you act out against another, be it human, animal or thing, you ultimately act out against yourself.
For in the great web of life, we are all connected.

Hi Evita.
A wonderful picture for a very nice thought! I think you still cannot compare the human behavior to the other animals. Life in nature is supposed to be an equilibrium and the interaction among animals is basically based on species survival… The human society has added the game and over-exploitation of resources just for the pleasure (or money)!! Gosh we are so bad!
Stunning photo! And what a perfect representation of your words of wisdom today. I believe we are all connected, people, nature.. but I’ve always used the ripple in the water as a visual. This is SO much more effective! Wonderful.
@ CHRIS – Thank you as always Chris for your input.
I know it is still not widely accepted by many or perhaps not a popular view, but I really feel so strongly about the idea of seeing animals in a new light. I think we have oppressed them long enough.
I am sure as you are out in the field and watching some of the amazing bird species you do, you can see their own passion for life and living. This goes past a mere instinct.
As a biologist, I too used to think based on Darwin’s theory that life is tough and it is all about survival of the fittest. But as I ventured deeper into myself, as I opened up to nature in ways I never did before, I learned so much about it, myself and life.
A book called “A Simpler Way” was instrumental and so beautiful in expressing how all of nature, all the species are living and working together with us, not as just a means to an end of survival, but as a beautifully evolving complex. In fact you just gave me the idea to include that book in my “Evita’s Picks & Finds” section above.
And yes human society has greatly disturbed the balance of nature and today puts itself above nature – but we are after all animals, and must learn to live in a cooperative way with the all. This may not be a popular concept yet with people, but I see and feel the change on this Earth.
And ultimately it is not about making ourselves feel bad, but about evolving, and rising to a higher potential, a higher thought about ourselves – we are capable of so much more, but we have learned to live with big limits that we today accept as normal.
Thanks – this gave this post even more reflective ideas :)
@ MARTIE – Thanks Martie, I really, really enjoy putting these together and yes I really now see the web idea, as the paradigm of how our connections all span each other.
