Vacation Highlights: The Place

Up North River

A week ago I came back from a wonderful vacation in the midst of wild and wonderful nature. This week, I will feature a few highlights from that trip here on EvolvingScenes.com

Today’s photo represents the place: Ontario’s amazing north-eastern landscape. For all those of you who are not familiar with Ontario, when we say north, we still mean part of the southern tip. Ontario is a huge province and the true north is virtually uninhabited by anyone.

This isĀ  the long and beautiful Madawaska River, or as the Natives knew it as “shining (mada) – water (waska).”

It is splendid to immerse oneself in nature, both humbling and rejuvenating to know we are part of the greater whole.

Evita — This picture makes me want to step inside and be quietly canoeing down the Madawaska River:~)

Oh yes. Let me lie in a boat and float down this river. It is so peaceful and I just know all my cares would evaporate! Wonderful, Evita!!

@ SARA – So nice to hear Sara – that area is truly picturesque and so tranquil, it really does draw one in.

@ MARTIE – Thanks Martie! This river is both calm and busy, it just depends on what each person is looking for. Some people can coast smoothly in a canoe, while in other areas there are huge rapids for those looking for a different type of feeling :)
