SkyWatch Friday – Amidst The Blue

SkyWatch Friday

It is wonderful when our days are blessed with “blue skies”.

Everything is going right, we are full of happiness and at peace.

But sometimes those blue skies turn grey. Sometimes clouds block our sun.

Many of us are quick to blame the “greyness” on something or someone.

But everything has a purpose, just like every cloud has a purpose.

The answer is not to resist the clouds, but to learn to appreciate them.

It is a cloudy, rainy morning here, and I am appreciating them for giving me the permission to do inside duties today. :)

In Crete, we have about 4 months of cloudless skies in the summer. While beautiful, by the time the first rainstorms roll in in early October, we are more than ready for them and love to spend that first gusty, rainy day down by the sea watching the waves roll and thunder.

    There is beauty in both.

  2. Marcie says:

So nice to see puffy white clouds in beautiful blue skies. Lovely image.

I feel that if I sit here and stare at this wonderful snap for a while that I’ll start to find the faces of fairies in the clouds. I think I see Tinkerbell…great capture!

When I first looked at this shot it gave me the impression of a “dreamy sky”. Then I read your passage about grey days. Interesting. It got me to thinking that on those grey days we really can avoid being in the moment by dreaming about being somewhere else. I enjoy these Friday SkyWatch posts Evita. Thanks.

  12. Thanks for this — “grey days” and obstacles seem like such an important aspect of our journey toward understanding the truth.

My sky watch looks like this since May month… global warming… Now the summer lasts only one month per years. It’s a glaciations’ era here…

@ CHANIA GIRL – That is said so beautifully and indeed there is a blessing in both!

Crete sounds wonderful, by the way!!!! I had a chance to visit Cypres and it was fantastic, I imagine they are similar.

@ MARCIE – Thank you for your visit Marcie!

@ MIKE – Thanks for the comment and visit Mike!

@ SHEY – Thank you for the feedback and great to meet you here!

@ GREENSBORO DAILY PHOTO – LOL, that is a good one, I totally agree, it would be one serene and heavenly room!

@ HAPPYONE – Thank you so much for that input. I appreciate the visit!

@ FREEGAL1000 – LOL :) I love the idea of Tinkerbell coming along! Thanks :)

@ ELISABETH’SBRIGHTSIDE – Thank you Elisabeth for the comment and wishing you a wonderful new week!

@ EARTHTOHOLLY – Thanks Holly for the visit and feedback!

@ BEANOW – Yes indeed, just a calm view for today!

@ DAVINA – Thanks Davina – and that is a great point indeed. We can do two things in fact, and should always choose which one serves us better in the moment: take ourselves away from the moment by dreaming of another one, or accept the moment no matter what it is and understand that it has a purpose too :)

@ CHRIS EDGAR – You are welcome Chris and yes indeed!

@ DOUM – Wow that does not sound great to hear that your climate has changed that much. But indeed our Earth is changing. Here we have much longer winters now too it seems, colder springs and more rainy summers.
