Time Well Spent
Each day we are all given the same amount of time.
Some of us rush from one place to the next. Some of us take in the stillness of each moment.
At the end of the day though, we all had the same amount of time.
As you go through your day today, think about how you spend your time.
Is it time spent well?
Many times it is not about all the things we do that matters, but about all the things we don’t do.

Man I know I’m not the most efficient person when I am at home. I could do so much more if I stuck to a job and completed it rather than flit from here to there doing bits and pieces. When will I learn :D

I really struggle with this one: the time given to me in the day. I look around me A LOT and see people who do so much in a day that I wonder, “How do they do it?” Yes they seem so calm and relaxed. I envy their time-management skills yet for some reason just cannot seem to accomplish quite so much … despite my to-do lists and the fact that I am very good factor-inner (my made-up word) of how much time it takes to do things = I’m almost always spot on. I even do my errands and shopping methodically – working in a circle, with home being the starting and finishing point. But, as I said, despite all this I seem to accomplish far less. And this is something I still haven’t learned to accept. I mean, is it something to accept (with serenity) or should I change it (with courage)? :)
I do know that I tend to take time to smell the roses. I purposely get up early in the morning so that I can sit and sip and enjoy my coffee unhurried before breakfast is made and the demands of the day set in. One of the reasons I love Greece, actually, is that my pace of life is much slower there. I don’t have to book coffees with friends two weeks out.

Wonderful sandy picture and the subject is very nice. You’re right, for all of us, time is flying. The most important thing is probably to be able to appreciate every minute and not to worry too much about the future. Carpe diem!!

@ SIRE – LOL…the photo was taken in Cuba. They have divinely white sand beaches there, and if one gets lucky lots of amazing little critters!
As for time, indeed it is not always easy I find unless we are conscious. I have just started working from home this week, and if one is not conscious of time, the day can fly by having done nothing…or everything…just depends how one looks at it I guess.
@ CHANIA GIRL – Thank you for that addition – it is an amazing piece for us all to learn from.
My first instinct as I was reading it was to tell you to never, ever look at others and compare yourself to them. Perhaps they get more done, perhaps they don’t. It is all a matter of perspective and at the end of the day where is the rush?
Life in the Western world is filled with things to do that so many people forget who they are, and what life is really all about.
Good for you for smelling the roses. Do you know how many people out there, cannot find the time to do that… Maybe they are looking at you and saying I wish I had the time to do that.
I think in the end it is all a matter of our priorities :)

@ CHRIS – Yes, carpe diem, indeed! I think the way of the future will be more of that indeed, to really live by being, not by doing.
We have run around enough for many decades now, if not generations. Time to sit back a bit I think, and start taking it all in.
Cuba huh? You went there for a holiday, work or just to take the photo?
@ SIRE – LOL, I wish just to take the photo, that would be awesome. Can you imagine if we could just pick up and leave to a place of our choice to do just that. Perhaps in the future travel will be improved.
Now in all seriousness, it was for vacation last year. I have been lucky to go there several times and it is an amazing tropical paradise.
Sounds really nice, and yes it would be great to just pick up you camera and go to wonderful places just for a photo shoot. Who knows, one day it may actually happen.
