@ CHANIA GIRL – This is wonderful to hear! There is nothing more important I believe than taking time out for ourselves, whether to regroup or take care of ourselves, or just get in touch with ourselves.

This is so underrated in our society and yet so essential to the human spirit!

Even when I miss a few days of your posts, I always come to them feeling like it’s okay that I’ve been away. :)

I have actually been taking time over the past week or so to nourish myself because … well, there were a few good parts of me that had been neglected.

I’ve taken care of my body, caught up on some correspondence, spent time in the sun and water, and I feel so much more “me” for it.

Thank you for the way you capture life’s themes with your poetic photos. This is a place I love to come.

@ MARTIE – Thanks! That is a good way of looking at it! Especially the part about dancing free in the wind :)

@ DAVINA – LOL – your comment made me laugh, because I am the last person probably to disregard weeds…you should see our backyard…no seriously. For environmental reasons and because we no longer want to “discriminate” against the plants, we have left it all natural…so our backyard looks very close to this, actually.

Not something many would be proud of perhaps, but what can I say, I am all about looking at things in a new way (and I have checked no one can take us to court for having an au naturel look – I had to check just in case ;)

In terms of personal neglect, it is important first and foremost to recognize any areas that may be lacking our love and attention and then act on them – don’t put it off, for now is all there is!

@ KIKOLANI – Hi Kristi, no worries, you have to feel comfortable with what you are doing at any given moment. And yes I have learned this the hard way too, as I often would tell myself, I have to write, it has been so many days… but the truth is I don’t. Blogging is supposed to be about fun and sharing your passions. So allow things to flow, and you will find that your creative juices will be flowing in no time.

My creativity has been in a neglected rut recently. Also, I have neglected my site a bit this week due to job issues and other things that have been going on. Hopefully I’ll be able to focus on them again soon.

Hi Evita. This is interesting because I see such a natural richness here in this picture, rather than neglect; letting nature run wild and grow. When I first saw this my inclination was to go lie on this bench. But I do understand your point. I have been neglecting my health lately. Too much work, less exercise, not enough sleep and less nutrition. Not great, but I’m aware of it and focusing on how to choose differently. Thanks for the reminder.

Nicely spotted! Great words too. And do you know what? Sometimes I do feel like that bench, slightly neglected. But other times I feel like the weeds – dancing in the sun and wind!
