On Top Of The World

We all have moments when we feel like we are “on top of the world!”
Life is great and things couldn’t get any better.
But what about those moments when we don’t have such great feelings?
It is in those times that we need to raise ourselves up the most.
You can listen to a song you like, spend time with a person you enjoy or literally raise your being by taking a walk up a hill or mountain to enjoy the broadened view and change your perspective on whatever seems to stand in your way.

Great shot and lovely words.
Wonderful capture. Love the simplicity.
Awesome shot and lovely words as usual.
Happy weekend, Evita :)
I love the beautiful blue sky as a backdrop for the robin, great job!
Wonderful post and so true…
Love the photo of the bird sitting on top of his world :-)
Fantastic photo and great contribution to SWF – well done!
What a cute little bird, watching his kingdom – and the lovely sky! I bet he was singing also!
Thanks for your visit and nice comment!
That robin is so clear. You must have been close. What a great way to celebrate the sky, with a bird in a tree, seemingly on top of the world!
What a sweet little robin! Great capture of her. Love how green and fluffy the tree looks too. Great colors.
Evita: Wonderful to see the American Robin in the sky, neat capture.
Beautiful photo and wonderful words to accompany it. I’m happy to have been here, it really made my day better. =)
Evita, this is a gorgeous photo. It reminds me that the birdfeeders outside my parents’ home are apparently still full of seeds. This is unusual because birds and or squirrels empty it regularly. Turns out my dad bought some ‘squirrel-proof’ seeds covered in a chili. None of the creatures like it!?
@ SECRET MOM THOUGHTS – Thank you and wishing you a great weekend with the little ones :)
@ MARCIE – Thanks Marcie!
@ JOHN – Thank you so much John!
@ JERI – Thank you Jeri for the comment and visit :)
@ KAREN – Thanks Karen – I appreciate the feedback.
@ BARUCH – Thanks so much for the lovely comment!
@ VALKYRIEN – You are very welcome and thank you as well.
@ GREENSBORO DAILY PHOTO – Thank you, I actually even got some more close ups of him. I was able to come fairly close, but my camera lens definitely did the rest ;)
@ DANIELLE – Thank you so much for your comment and visit :)
@ FISHING GUY – Thanks! These little ones are so abundant in our area, I just love them!
@ SANNA – Thank you so much for the feedback, that is so wonderful to hear!
@ LIARA – LOL, that is interesting indeed. I guess they have their taste preferences too. I tried feeding some chipmunks in our yard soy nuts and they eat it, when I try the same with the ones in the forest, they do not :)
I gasped when I saw this photos. SO so so stunning. Singularly stunning. I of course resonate with it because it is a Robin. When you speak of being the times we are more down or harder days and talk about need to uplift ourselves more: I don’t know if I told you already but when I was a little girl I asked my mother why they named me Robin. She said Dad wanted to call me Roberta after himself (he was Robert) and my mom told him that no daughter of her’s was going to get stuck with a name like “Roberts”. LOL! Then she told him that they closet to Robert that they would get was Robin. Then she told me in a conspiratory tone: “But that’s not why I named you Robin. I didn’t tell your father this, but I named you Robin because it is my favorite bird, the first songbird of spring and it means new hope, new life and joy. And you were a new life and a joy.” I was only about 6 – 7 when she told me this and I NEVER forgot it. So Robin’s are special to me and remind me of my mother. Thank you my dear precious soul. I love this site SO much. It looks like it is really taking off and so many are finding the same solace that I find here. Love, Robin
PS I too laughed out loud over Liara’s comment. What a hoot.
@ ROBIN – Thank you so much Robin :)
Wow what a beautiful story about your name and I am so touched and honored that this photo was able to remind you of that precious memory and your mom!
They really are amazing birds, the first ones out and always making themselves useful it seems and they sing sooo beautiful. Come to think of it, your name suits you thus so perfectly as you exhibit those characteristics too :)
Extra capture…
@ BEANOW – Thanks!
OMG, what an amazing pic. Which cam r u using btw? And gr8 work!! Love it! Will visit ur blog regurlarly from now on.
Hi Evita. A bird’s eye view! Beautiful. Something else a person can do when they’re not feeling on top of the world is to look back on all they have accomplished to get them to where they are. We so often forget all we’ve done for ourselves in our quest and haste to do, do, do.
@ PREETAM – Thank you so much! It is a Nikon D80 with an 18-200mm lens – it works wonders that I can say and lets me get up close and personal with nature, even from a distance :)
@ DAVINA – Thank you so much Davina!
What a great piece of wisdom…indeed when we start to apply gratitude in our life and look at all that we are and all that we have accomplished, it can bring an amazing feeling of elation!
