@ ERIC - LOL, I am not sure if you have ever heard of the channel called "OASIS" - it is on tv and online, anyway last night they had a 1 hour special on the praying mantis. In the olden days I would be really pressed to feel unpleasant about them, where as today I think they are just stunning and magnificent in their features and all. Well maybe not all, no need to eat your mate after making babies in my opinion ;)

@ NATURAL MOMENTS - Wow Bernie that is so well said! I never looked at it that way with the larvae stages of growth - how beautiful! And yes it is so true, it is so freeing to get to a stage like that, where one can ever recognize that!

Its nice to get to the point where the actions of other people that once angered us can now only put a smile upon our face, knowing that we are all only going through differing stages of growth...like the larvae of insects finally finding the ability to fly high above its once confined perspective.

Evita - I know what you mean about insects.... their great beauty, that is. We just did an assignment for art school... the project was to draw a bug up close in oil pastels. I searched the internet for photos and was amazed at what creatures there are out there. Particularly the praying mantis, my personal favorite bug :)

@ MARCIE - Thank you Marcie :)

@ ERIC - Thanks, that is such a great addition. And what interesting timing too, there will be a Wayne Dyer quote along with tomorrow's photo :)

@ ROBIN - Oh Robin THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

But is that too not the voice of the universe speaking, always finding us, telling us what we need to hear at exactly the right time, just in different ways.

This is why I truly meant it when I once said to you that I live with open ears, heart and mind for the universe or God is always speaking to us through everything and everyone, it is just that some choose to listen and hear while others don't.

Oh my goodness Robin how much too I got to learn and re-affirm in my own life from your words. I had 2 nasty comments to date that I can think of (how sad that we don't forget those) and the first one stung a lot and I wanted to "feel right". Well that was my teaching ground and I too realized that the people who attack others, are the most vulnerable amongst us. Hence with the second one I did what you did, built on the commonality and walked away with peace.

And I just LOVE the last line you used "we lose nothing of us, by letting other be who they are" Ah, but that is a CHOICE and not an easy one to make for many - it is one of those choices that I feel most of us, just can't get enough practice with.

Anyhow thank YOU so much Robin for your contribution to this post and you are so welcome always, from the depths of my heart!

@ CHRIS - You are very welcome Chris, and thank you for stopping by here!

Yes, when I was younger I really did not like insects, today I find great beauty in them, and the lessons they teach I find as some of the most indispensable ones. We only need to see a dragonfly in flight, an ant colony working or beetles mating to understand...

Thanks for this post. I envy simple creatures like insects sometimes, with no compulsion to project any image of being anything but an insect. They have a lot to teach us, I think.

Dearest Evita, this is one of your most ASTOUNDING photos. It is very Zen, very still, peaceful and silent. It goes so well with the words.

I find it incredibly interesting that every time I come here what I find is not only exquisitely and tastefully done, but it is so timely for me. As if you had posted it just for ME!! LOL!

This is something I've been thinking about lately because it's something I tend to do, which is put kindness above being "right". Someone said to me a few weeks back, that I should stand up for myself in regard to a comment left on my site. Although I did not agree with what the person wrote on my blog, I sense that this person although appearingly very strong -- some might even say arrogant at times -- is actually very vulnerable.

My friend said, "But you are right". I said, "I am right only for ME. We each walk our own path in our own time. It feels more right for me to love than to be 'right'. I go away filled with love and compassion as opposed to being filled with 'I am right'. I've lost nothing of me in letting others be themselves."

So I took from the comment the thing that we had in common and built on it. Hence I felt closer to this person and happier. It's often easier for us humans to see where we are different as opposed to seeing what we have in common. Building on our commality makes us all stronger and more compassionate.

Thank you, dear beuatiful Evita. Your name is so perfect for you. "Evita: LIFE"

Love,
Robin

PS Thank you for bringing this to me again. It doesn't mean we can't speak truth or that we have to let someone walk all over us. It's just means, for me, that I lose nothing of me in letting others be who they are. I am still ME.
