Liberation

Bird on Blue Sky

I share with you the following quote that comes from one of my favorite books “A New Earth” by Eckhart Tolle.

What a liberation to realize that the “voice in my head” is not who I am.

Who am I then?

The one who sees that.

The awareness that is prior to thought, the space in which the thought – or emotion or sense perception – happens.

Eckhart Tolle

    Awesome Silhouette shot.

Given the fact that you have so much space around the bird, just check out a slightly different composition of putting the bird on the diagonal line (left top corner to right bottom corner) and more towards the right bottom corner of that line. That would give a feeling that the bird’s flying into the frame. Composition is always a matter of personal taste always though.

Simply perfect!!! Love the accompanying quote!

  3. Daniel says:

I like the contrast between the deep blue sky and the silhouette of the bird. And a great quote.

  4. John says:

Very nice captured and exposed, Evita.
Great Silhouette against the blue sky.

@ THOMAS – Hi Thomas, you know as an amateur photographer, I always appreciate feedback and technique advice, etc. especially from more professional photographers like yourself – so thank you for your input.

I would not have thought of such a composition, but I completely see the affect it would have. See the funny thing too is, that when I see a moving animals, I just snap and hope for the best ;)

So thanks again for the help :)

    @ MARCIE – Thank you Marcie :)

@ DANIEL – Thanks Daniel. Yeah, I could not believe that the sky turned out that vibrantly dark blue – I thought that was so neat.

    @ JOHN – Thanks John :)

So you think that I live at the north pole :)

Here in south Norway, it is rarely more than -10 degrees in winter.( 14 Farenheit)

  7. Evita says:

    Hi John,

LOL – now you got me blushing ;)

Okay with that temperature, my home in South/Central Ontario seems like the North Pole. We can easily in the winter pass -10 and -20 is uncommon. But at the same time we get pretty hot summers, so I guess it all balances out in the end.

So I guess our locations are not that different when it comes to cold after all :)

    Hi Evita :)
I think Canada and Norway have much the same climate and it is because both countries are located in some of the same latitude.
I have often visits by another blogger from Ontario (http://eastgwillimburywow.blogspot.com/) and we often see that we have a lot of the same nature also.
We also have great summers, with temperatures up to 30 degrees.
Sorry for my bad English. :)

  9. Evita says:

    Hi John,

Yeah, I guess they do, but it just always seemed to me like Norway is so much further up north. You know I think I attribute this stereotype from past conditioning. It is amazing what we pick up from people over the years and not question whether it is right or wrong for us.

That is why today I try and succeed pretty well I must say in living life as consciously as possible. I no longer take other’s ideas, beliefs, paradigms and apply them as my own, unless they truly make sense to me after some reflection and contemplation.

And by the way, your English is awesome! I was actually very surprised when I learned that you are from Norway that your English was that good. I really would not have thought otherwise that it was not almost native for you.

  10. John says:

Another thing Evita, I am impressed that you know where Norway is in the world. ;)

  11. Kikolani says:

I dreamt of birds a lot recently, and people said it was because I was feeling liberation. I think it was more prophetic than it was applicable at the time, because I recently was liberated from something that was weighing down on me, and the moment that I realized that, it was like I was flying.
