Salutes to Freedom

There is perhaps no greater feeling for a soul then to feel free – to have freedom.
Freedom to express itself.
Freedom to be itself.
Freedom to feel fully.
Freedom to speak openly.
Freedom to think freely.
Freedom to just be!

Wonderful and so delicate backlight composition!
I like how you included a bit of the overhead trees to help frame this fine statue shot. I like the silhouetted view with the sky behind. Nice one.
Great photo. And I agree, but aren’t we always tied down by something?
Dear Evita, I love these little pieces that you write. The photos is exquisite and so well framed with the leaves included in the silhouette. Delicately beautiful and yet there also is something very powerful about it.
I think we often entrap our own souls without realizing that we are doing so. That is why it is so important to take time out, each day, to ask ourselves where are we holding ourselves back and in what ways can we set ourselves free. I think I ask myself every single day, “Where are the places I’ve fallen asleep at the wheel?” “How can I do things differently, in a way that will set me fully free.” What you wrote here gave me goosebumps; it is so powerful and essential to us all. Thank you dear Evita. You are such a magnificent soul. Much love, Robin
@ STANDLEY – Thanks Richard!
@ DON – Thank you so much for that input Don!
@ ROBERT – Thanks Robert and to answer your question, as physical beings perhaps yes. But when and if we can see ourselves as spiritual beings and all that is left when we take away the material side of life, the expectations, the obligations, etc – then no.
Now most of us cannot see past those things. But true freedom from all that is possible even here and now, in this world that seems so full, of so much. It just takes a serious look within, getting to know what really is our essence and what is all the other “stuff”.
When we step inside of ourselves and look at who and what we really are, the other illusions should dissolve in the sense that we experience freedom from them.
(This could be a lengthy discussion – but that is just a quick answer to how I really feel about freedom, and what I know is possible for each one of us.)
@ ROBIN – Thank you so much Robin!
As you know nature provides me with so many lessons – she is my greatest teacher, because above all else, she connects me with my spirit closer than ever. Hence I am grateful at what comes out of me that I can share with others and perhaps inspire or even if I should be so lucky “awaken” them to a different way of living – just more in tune, more peaceful, beautiful and just plain happy!
I completely agree with you – we DO entrap ourselves many times. We find many things in our lives that seem to “tie” us down – but on a deeper level there is nothing of such sort, except that which we choose.
Like you say it really comes down to consciousness. That alone is the “secret” for an amazing quality of life from every aspect.
Thanks again Robin for all your love and support!
I like those silhouettes against the pure blue sky.
A very elegant sculpture!
Great capture and words.
Love the simplicity of the silhouetted sculpture against the sky. Powerful pairing of words and image.
