Yes it seems as if looking connotates a type of seeing without intimately connecting with the object of one’s attention. If there is no feelings exchanged in any looking, then one is not truly seeing.
Love the picture. Even though your beautiful friend here may not be coming out of a tree hole, it reminds me of how I spent a few years examining all the types of holes that birds and rodents use around the Methow Valley. Perhaps I will renew this past connection this spring.
