   Perhaps if something hardens to the point of breaking, it then sets free the rest of the environment to move forward. So those things that become inflexible may act as a braking system until it is appropriate for the whole to take the next big step. So maybe such trees or energies sacrifice themselves in some way by taking and embodying such a position for the benefit of the whole, even though their heaviness and blurred vision doesn’t elude to this notion on the surface of things. ?

     Yes, “breaking” can be a way to set us free or parts of nature to a new expression.
