Fun Facts Friday: Red Squirrels

Fun Facts Friday: Red Squirrels

Although we are used to hearing about many animals hibernating throughout the winter months, not all do.  Did you know that while most small rodent-like animals like the chipmunk will hibernate through winter, its cousin the red squirrel does not? Instead it thrives all winter making tunnels through the snow and using food it has accumulated all summer, if none other is available.

Makes one think about the amazing adaptation of species. So often in our lives, we are faced with different situations that paralyze us, dis-empower us or seem to limit us in various ways.

May we be empowered to learn to adapt with each challenge, be present in each moment and act with conscious awareness to ensure the best results in the now and a most favorable future.

What a really cute shot! That’s a beauty… Yeh it looks like we are getting too much use to the world we are living in… If it happen to change, I’m not sure we will survive… Animals will survive…

I remember watching the squirrels through my window while at my computer when I lived at “the farm”. They were so cute and fun to watch. Beautiful photo – looks so cold!

The notions of challenge vanish when they are replaced by infinite allowances upon an unlimited budget.

OMG!! This is SO beautiful, I just love him. The richness of color between him and red leaves, against the white snow and still green grass. And his snow white underbelly, wow!! BEAUUUUUTIFUL!!!!
